Brevent Crags August 2009

Friday August 21
Climbing at Brevent Crags

We thought if we want to be able to climb the Voie Frison-Roche, we had better get used to the rock and the grading.

Climbed the single-pitch Le Quatrieme Tiers and Demi Lune, both 5b and very consistent climbing.

We also had a look at the approach, start and finish of the Voie Frison-Roche, both of which are easy to get to, the former by a cairned path through the rocks, and the latter being right beside the viewing platform of the Brevent cable car station.

The appearance of the whole climb is very intimidating, being long and steep and we heard that the previous day someone had broken their ankle falling off the crux

Richard ran up and joined us before running back to the valley as part of his tapering for the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc next weekend.
