We make an early start as it is not raining, heading for Bruach na Frithe. A lot of snow has fallen near the summit, which gets rapidly deeper as we ascend until at the top there is snow up to our knees on every step to stamp through, and more where it has drifted. We had wanted to recce the ridge from this point but it is not possible in the snow. On the way back down, we sit at a little pebble beach high up among the wasteland of lochans and treacherous rocks, where the sun comes out, looking at the clouds and the snowy mountain.
