Four guys from Yorkshire Mountaineering Club come to the hut from off a yacht in the harbour at half past 9 in the morning taking us by surprise as we potter about. They are very friendly active and quite old. Brian is 70 still the first up everything and first out of bed, making porridge and tea for everyone.

Another rest day. The lads depart on an early boat leaving us to relax in the hut. We organize our packs for our third Ridge attempt. And then go out to the secret beach to pick mussels in light rain.

81/2 hour day.
Leisurely breakfast. Some more visitors burst into the hut while Jim is in bed wanting to see what it is like. After a while we decide to go for a walk on the ridge. We take small bivvi bags just in case we want to stay up there, as you never know. Get as far as the Dubhs again, and I feel very tired and want to turn back. So we come down from Bealach a Ghrunnda . we went up via Coire Beag collecting water for the ridge from a very high spring which is a good thing to know about. We get back about 8pm.
