BBC Building demolition Manchester

BBC Demolition

The BBC headquarters in Manchester whilst being demolished last October. This is the first stage of a planned £200m development of the site.

Reality Estates plan to build a hotel, supermarket and flats once demolition of New Broadcasting House is complete. The BBC left the building as part of the corporation’s move to MediaCity in Salford Quays.

It was home to BBC Manchester from 1976 until last year.

RealIty, who bought the site for around £10m last year, hope that the new complex will create 1,000 jobs.

Their plans also include leisure amenities, car parking and a public space for exhibitions, broadcasts and performances.
