Teide Crater Panorama

crater_Panorama1

The view from near the summit of Teide onto the crater, showing how wide the caldera is and the barren yet colourful the moon-like landscape. It is here that we spent the night up in the thin air at an altitude of 3,270 metres or 10,700 feet. There were very few birds and plants, just rock and dust and views, and stars.  If you click the picture 3 times you can zoom right in to examine individual rocks.
