Chaine du Clapis. Lovely sunny day. We walk up to the climbing at Clapis, which is a beautiful walk in scenic and interesting terrain as we wend towards the lacy cliffs, with different views of the fluted columns everywhere we look. The climbing is up and bright, alongside a group of English and Finnish climbers. Then we get dressed up and cycle in skirt and posh pants to the Hotel de Montmirail for dinner which is excellent. After a bottle of extremely bracing Vacqueyras, we wobble back in the small circles of our front lights up the steep knobbly hill through the woods.
