Climbing in the Chaine du Clapis area. we approach through the Notch and have a look at some steep climbs before settling on the climbs leading up to the Notch. Last time here it was so windy you could hardly stand. Now it is hot and sunny. We do a few 5s, Le Jardin and Bala and Jim does a 6a and tries a 6b.
Hubert is coming for the bikes so we tidy and clean them , walk down to the Hotel Montmirail for our last posh tea which is very good again and peep round the back of the chateau de Montmirail. Hubert is on his way up as we walk back. We have left the bikes for him. all loaded up with their panniers rack, locks helmets so he can just take them.

Hello yes it is extremely limestone if you know what I mean. – The Dentelles de Montmirail, so called for its lacy appearance, as the limestone is so white and intricate. Very beautiful area.
