Via Ferrata Giuseppe Olivieri

Via Ferrata Giuseppe Olivieri

Today we had a long outing, in which we linked or strung together 3 Via ferratas in the Tofana Group; The Via Ferrata Giuseppe Olivieri, the Tofana di Mezzo and the Via Ferrata Formenton

This post about the first of these, the Via Ferrata Giuseppe Olivieri.
An ascending contour path takes you from the Pomedes Hut in the early morning sun with mist swirling around the big tops above in the blue sky.   The path gradually steepens until you arrive at the wires, and begin the scramble up the steep southern arête of Punta Anna, the large outcrop that looks onto the Tofana di Mezzo. The steep and exposed ascent follows a line through the east face, then briefly onto the SW Face, before continuing on Punta Anna’s steep southern arête. Airy sections up extremely solid rock lead in about 1 hour to the summit beneath Punta Anna (2731m).
From here, the path continues from the Doss de Tofana to the summit of Tofana di Mezzo along the Via Ferrata Gianni Aglio.
