I interrupted writing about the Dolomites while I made a lot of paintings of mountains, some from the Dolomites, and many from Scotland and the Cuillin Ridge. I was experimenting with a new technique using wax and inks, which gives an almost print like quality to the work, and also seems to represent the actions of weather and tiem on the giant rock and formations of the big mountains. This one shows 3 towers and was inspired by the Tre Cima, although you can see that it doesn’t look exactly like them, but I found the idea of these 3 different standing forms almost like personalities standing proud in the high landscape very interesting.
