A Walk from Falzarego to Dibona Hut

22 July 2019

A pleasant walk through meadows and on well made tracks with fantastic views up into the high mountains and of the Tofana di Rozes that is our target for the next day. But for now, flowers butterflies and World War 1 remains.

Tonight we are staying at the Angelo Dibona Refuge, which is large and has fantastic cuisine. Rifugio Angelo Dibona is a high mountain refuge at an elevation of 2.045m (6,709ft) above the sea level, located in the heart of the southern Alps in the Veneto region of Northern Italy.
It is possible to drive to the hut, so it is often very popular especially at weekend lunch times. It is a lovely place to sit outside and enjoy both the lunch and the wonderful views. The road to the summit, located at the foot of the Mount Tofana di Rozes, is gravel, rocky and bumpy. It’s called Regional Road 48. Expect a very narrow trail with several hairpin turns. The road can be closed anytime due to snow and ice.
