A Clump of Reeds

There was a very tall stand of giant reeds beside the cottage near Port Soller, Mallorca. The appearance of it would change throughout the day and every day it was different from the last. You could hear the wind rushing through it, small birds found sanctuary there, and probably lived there, and when the pressure was low, flying insects would be harbored there, which drew the swallows to swoop around finding their meals. the light would catch the feathery frond-like heads of the flowers and illuminate them a pale gold colour, or at evening these heads would appear dark against the sky.
